Post by scrappingthemagic »

Hi
This is my first post so "hello"

I am looking to purchase some nfer papers for my son to practise before the 11+
all of the ones I have seen on amazon, wh smith etc say date 2003 which is ages ago!
so, are there any current ones that I can purchase and where from please?

I think that these are the current edition of the official Nfer/GL practice papers.

They have a new cover.

PS these are identical to the 2003 copies.

thank you, i think that i have bought the wrong ones from amazon according to your link as i have bought the new letts ones, thinking that they were the same because of the covers! ( misleading!) but never mind, they will do to start off with and have bought them between 2 of my friends to split the costs,
but will get these other ones next!
thanks

It is hard to imagine that GL and Letts could have come up with a more confusing arrangement.

Inspired2win The above that you quoted are new Letts papers but they are not written by Nfer/GL.

Hi Mitasol,

You might want to have a look at this thread to explain the new Letts papers.

Letts and GL/Nfer have come up with a system to test the ability of parents. The nature of the test is to put old tests in new covers and new tests in old covers and only one of the tests are produced by Nfer. :D
Until the beginning of 2010 the NFER GL-Assessment was distributed through Letts Educational (using the card wallets with designs such as giraffes, fishes etc).

NFER GL-Assessment papers are now distributed by GL-Assessment directly with their own new design covers and new ISBN numbers.

In the mean time Letts Educational have created their own new set of papers. They have chosen to use to original card wallet designs with the giraffes, fishes etc to distribute their own papers.

The way to tell these two sets of papers apart is to look at the bottom left hand side of the cover; if it says GL-Assessment then the contents is original NFER, otherwise it is new Letts own contents.
