appeals

Post by dutchy005 »

Does anyone know whether anyone has ever successfully appealed against poor 11+ results to any of the consortium schools.

I know of one successful appeal to SHSB last year. The case was compelling and very well prepared. If you have a prep school child there is little point appealing to WHSB as they feel that the children have already had an advantage.

If it helps other people I can now answer some of my own original question.

In the last 10 years CRGS has granted no appeals.

KEGS has granted 4 in the last 5 years

WHSB has granted 15 in last 7 years.

We appealed to KEGS and lost and CRGS and won!!!! :D :D :D

Yipee

I will do full report on Appeals section using format set up by etienne but if anyone in future, because I suspect this year's appeals are now all over, wants more information about what we did. just sent a PM.

The message I would like to send out is, do not be put off by fact that appeals are never won, someone can break the duck and it may be you!!! We asked ourselves after we lost the KEGS appeal whether it was worth putting ourselves through the trauma again when the odds were so heavily stacked against us and decided our DS was worth it and gave it our best shot. I am so glad we did.

Well done!
You must have had a really strong case as I have never heard of this happening before.
Do call the school as I think the induction day for new year 7 may be tomorrow (Thursday) - not sure so do check first :)

Many thanks.

CRGS can't have been thrilled that this happened but I must say they have been briiliant and we are all set for tomorrow.
