Pass Mark Bexley 2009 test

Post by dani* »

Can someone tell me what the pass mark was for Bexley this year please? I'm sure I've seen it on one of these threads, but now I can't find it.

I would like to know how many marks out of total available marks, I'm not thinking in terms of standardized scores. If I remember correctly there doesn't seem much in it for younger children anyway.

Many thanks

THe pass mark last year was 219, This was out of 280. Each test has a maximum of 140 and to pass you had to get a total of 219..

Thanks.

I was trying to work out how they arrive at the magic number of 140 if the test has 50 question only.

DD has had a go at the NFER maths paper. Unfortunately she does not appear to be able to complete the questions within the 50 minutes allowed. Her worst score was 40/50. She answered all questions correctly but ran out of time and missed out 10 questions. Does anyone know how to convert this score to marks out of 140.

Thanks.

I assume that as 40/50 is 80% then that would convert to 112/140 I may be wrong though.

Thanks Greenwhich mum.

Think I'm having a blond moment here, if the score of the paper is converted to % then why not keep the pass mark in % . Why convert to 140/280? Perhaps to add on the extra 2 marks for younger children?

I'm not sure about it really, there are sections here on standardisatino which I have read and this probably affects it, it might be best to read the section on standardisation or someone else may answer your question.
