HBS or WGGS ?

Post by nia1999 »

HI there

My daughter takes the 11+ later this year and given where we live (NW London) our choices are WGGS ,HBS,Clement Danes and Ricky .....I wanted to ask those parents out there who have girls at WGGS and HBS what they thought of their respective choices ? IE do I throw caution to the winds and enter HBS as first choice on my CAF to Harrow council even though it is very very very tough to get into and she might stand a better chance of getting into WGGS ?

I don't know if it's different in Harrow (I doubt it) but in Barnet, the schools don't know where you've put them in terms of priority, so you should just put the one you want to go to most at the top of the list.

Early days, but we're more than happy with HBS so far.

Many thanks for your candid email .I do agree with the choices that you listed and indeed DD is on the list for NLCS as a very bad back up in case .....

Seems to me that from general consensus HBS is best on the scope pvt or consortium .......Could you be a little more detailed as to the reasoning papers ? Obviously DD is practicising both VR and NVR but is there something in particular she should be looking at ?

Thanks

My inbox was full. It should be better now, but I prefer to answer questions on the public board unless they involve personal information.

Hi ALL,
Can Watford occupants apply for HBS (or outside the West Herts schools) & if yes, what is the procedure to sit for the exams? To gain a place in exam hall do we need to fill up an application form?

Thanks.

Yes you need to sit the test obviously and attend the open day .Its on a selection basis so no catchment area to worry about.
