Measuring Straight Line Distances

Just come across the following tool, which may help when trying to measure straight line distances between two postcodes

Thank you so much for this information . I had tried to get through to the Admissions team at Hertsdirect ,but it is evident that they are really busy .

Not sure how the council will be calculating their distances, but the above link will at least give you a better of your straight line distance. Have been wondering if anyone will be disadvantaged by the new straight line system? Will it just make everyone's distances shorter or what ?

They have an point for each address, supplied by the Ordnance Survey, and they'll be measuring the distances between those. It will make everyone's distance shorter, but it's easy to imagine a situation where A is closer to the school than B as the crow flies, but further away by road.
