just a reminder not to discuss details of the test content on the forum, there will be children who have still to sit the test.

DD said she thinks it went well. She said there was nothing in the paper she couldn't answer and managed to finish on time. She also had time spare to check some anwers. Overall she seems happy and confident which I'm pleased about considering we have another paper to go.

My son said the same. Maths is his strongest subject, but now I'm worried. Easy tests favour the children who are not necessarily good at maths, but are methodical and do not make silly mistakes.

Also, easy papers favour summer-born children.

I'm not so sure this was easy. If the pass rate will be anything like last year our DC will need a very high score to pass.

I think we are saying the same thing - the easier the content of the paper, the higher the percentage required to pass. The scores are standardised so that they can be compared from year to year, so even if the the percentage needed to pass is very different, the pass scores should be similar.

I have a feeling the VR will be hard, to achieve more differentiation :(

I think it was more along the lines that the children didn't come across anything that they hadn't seen before. They could still get the answers wrong or make silly mistakes!! We too think the VR will be challenging. Roll on tomorrow afternoon when this will be behind us - then just 1 more to go in November....

Does anyone know the rough % they will need to achieve on each test to pass (going on previous years) if they are a Sept - Dec child?
