Wearing Learning Lightly

Post by Sassie'sDad »

As a non-watcher of television, may I commend BBC Four Television's programme " Michael Woods The Making of England" (also available via BBC.co.uk/history) to you all. Never was history and scholarship better adapted; never was more evidence that not intelligence but application and hunger for learning is the key to success (and fulfilment)! The joy just shines out of this televisual experience and it is essentially both the preserve of the elite and the masses. An anthem to the glory that is life: humanity.

I second that, last night's episode was absolutely stunning.

I also agree with that.

For 12 years we did away with our T.V (until last year, when we were presented one as a gift )

Most of the programmes watched on television seems like chewing gum for the eyes! If you have a passion for history, it's worth viewing- although, I have to say, some of the sound effects spoilt the documentary.
