Marling School - second exam paper ?

Post by Alice in Underland »

Just received our instructions for the exam next Saturday and the letter from Marling says " The tests are multiple choice......the exams in the second paper are of a more searching nature".
Any suggestions as to what these might be ? NVR ? A Written English comprehension paper ? Or just another publishers Verbal Reasoning Multiple choice ?

When our daughter did the test a couple of years ago she and her friends all said the second paper got harder as it went on. She said it was the same sort of questions, only trickier.

I do think we would have to be informed if the second paper was NVR. The Pates and Tommies sites are still saying two multiple choice Verbal Reasoning. I don't think they could make it an english paper at the drop of a hat. Could they????

My nerves are frazzled as it is!

The letter from Stroud high refers to 2 multiple choice verbal reasoning tests and describes the second paper as containing questions of a more 'searching nature.' Freaked me out initially  but then realised that they are just warning us of what we've always known - that the second paper is harder. Although the letter was clearly intended to make the procedure very clear and to reassure us that the girls would be looked after, it just frightened me!!

Girls have to take their own refreshments this year as well, and have to be there at 8.15am!! Good job we live close. :D
