Q50 is
Ben and Emma each start to grow a plant on the same day.
After one week both plants are 5cm tall . During the next three weeks Bens plant grows f cm's per week and Emma's plant grows g cm's per week.
Emma's plant is taller.
When the plants are both 4 weeks old how much taller is Emma's plant than Ben's in cm's
and Q 48 is a drawing of a hexagon with the radius coming to the middle of one of the sides (unsuccessfully
tried to copy n paste) and the question is
What is the formula for the area of this shape?
answers range from
3(xy)
6x+6y
3xy/2
6x+6y/2
6(xy)
Thank you

Q48 is 3(xy)
If I've understood correctly, it's a regular hexagon. Therefore it comprised 6 regular triangles with x and y being the lengths of two of the sides.
The area of a triangle is 1/2 (base x height) or in this case 1/2 (xy)
Multiply by 6 as there are 6 triangles in the hexagon = 3(xy)
Brain shutting down and can't think straight, will try to look at first question tomorrow
