Change of address
Hi Chad,
My son has passed and secured an average of 113 at Langley Grammar school. We have put Langley and Herschel both on our CAF form. What would happen if we shift in the catchment of these schools? Whats the procedure if we change our address now?
Looking forward to hear from you
Thanks

Re: Change of address
have a feeling that in most areas there is a date at which the address is defined - if you move after the date it may be considered to be a late application. Need to check the LEA sites for info
edit: suspect it is in here - but can't open the document on the computer I am using:
http://www.westberks.gov.uk/CHttpHandle ... =25221&p=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Change of address
Agree Slough will have a date that decides where you reside and it has (in central berks) been moving towards New Year.District gained Berkshire county functions 1998 number 6: Bracknell Forest · Reading · Slough · West Berkshire · Windsor and Maidenhead · Wokingham
Good try Herman but West Berks is West and Slough is East, so B'nell, Wokingham and Reddin are central and W&B are Royal.

Re: Change of address
Niether Langley or Herschel have a 'catchment' area'
Langley have no distance criteria until two people are tied on the same score for the last place then the nearest to the school get it.
Herschel have brought in selection by distance this year. so now allocate the first 70 place on score alone and then the rest on distance as long as you have achieved the qualifying score of 111.
So it would not affect Langley so much but would affect Herschel as their admission number is 120...... so if you lived the closest to the school then you do not have to achieve such a high score.... in fact you would have to achieve 111. There are 50 place allocated on a '111 and over score' & distance.
