what to include on an appeal letter for selective secondary

What and how much information is best to submit on an appeals letter on the grounds of pastoral support ie lots of TLC needed for one 'delicate child' as a result of parents divorce due to unpleasant circumstances which the child witnessed and the father refuses to acknowledge he commited. Have been turned down, have put in for waiting list. As the mum I haven't blown my own trumpet as I don't like publising what we, the family have been through but wondered if this is where i went wrong in my application.
Help i need to submit the appeal in the next two days!

Hi worried,

I think with a bit of tweeking, just what you have said is great. I am sure
you dont want air your linen in public, but something along those lines
should be sufficient to explain all that is required.

I think that as much as possible should be made of your childs academic
ability. if possible, by way of hard facts exam results and so forth.

My advice would be not to go into too much detail at this stage - just a sentence or two. If you have any evidence (e.g. a letter from the GP or current school to confirm that your child has been affected), this should be attached - although it could be sent in later.

At the hearing you will have the opportunity to go into more detail and answer questions.
