maths scales

I was wondering if someone could help me with scales in maths:

a map of scotland is drawn to a scale of 1:325, 000
how many cm on the map would show 65km?

I dont actually know how to do the working out! please could someone help explain

On the train so excuse the brain. 1km = 100 000 cm so 65km = 650 000 cm so yr map would need 2cm to show 65 km. Pretty small scale ....

1:325000cm
1:3250m
1:3.25Km

Proportion then. how many 3.25km in 65Km, answer 20
Therefore map is 20cm which is equivalent to 65km

My 10year old DS informs me..
