I worked the first one to be PT:
My first answer was ZD - to get from the first to the second letters you move -7 along the alphabet (ie V is 7 letters back from C and X is 7 back from E) but that is not one of the possible answers so that's wrong!
I think it's a reversed mirror code. You draw a line between M & N as the middle of the alphabet and work away from this line on both sides.
C is the mirror of X
E is the mirror of V
so the answer should be XV but as it's VX the positions are reversed.

Using the same method G is the mirror of T
K is the mirror of P
so the answer is is PT
JK, NM, LM, LK, NO, JI, PQ, HG, RS, ??

Choice: UE, GF, EF, FE, EG
This is a leapfrog question - two sequences in one. This is often the case when the sequence given is so long.

As you're only looking for the next one set of letters, you only need to look at one of the sequences (the other would only be needed if you had to provide the next 2):
NM LK JI HG ??
Subsequent letters are -2 from the previous ones so the answer is FE

Thanks a lot! Tried mirroring, but never occurred to reverse them.

I've never come across reversing the letters before - seems a bit sneaky to me! Where did you the question come from?

Shop bought GL assessment use the reversing of mirrors in one question. Which means it may come up in real test.

Crickey, I missed that! DD went through the GL papers towards the end, but by that stage I was only going through the questions she got wrong (so she must have got this one right! :D ).
Thanks for the info Patricia.
