Help again please
Can anyone please help with this question, I've only managed to confuse ds trying to work it out
6 lollies and 3 ice creams cost £8.52
3 ice creams and 6 drinks cost £9.24
what would the cost of 1 lolly, 1 ice cream and 1 drink be?
Many thanks

Re: Help again please
Add both numbers together - this will give you the price of six of each of the items. £17.76
Then divide the total by six, this will give you the price of one each. £17.76/6=£2.96
Then divide the total by six, this will give you the price of one each. £17.76/6=£2.96

I'm still confused, can anyone simplify?
Re: Help again please
So am I 'cos that assumes the lollies and drinks are the same price.
I think it is more to do with fractions but I can't get further than that at the moment.
Where's that tutors number (for me!)

no it is OK - if you have two together it reads:doodles wrote:So am I 'cos that assumes the lollies and drinks are the same price.

6d + 6ic +6l = £9.24 + £8.52
divide right through by six gives
6d/6 + 6ic/6 + 6l/6 = £17.66/6
so 1d+1ic+1l = £2.96
Re: Help again please
Misread questions thought it meant individual prices of lollies, drinks and ices
