Bucks kids in Herts schools?

Post by bagesh »

Does anyone know if Bucks kids can have Herts schools (Parmiters/Watford boys/St Celments) on CAF? and has anyone been successful in securing a place in the past?
Many thanks in advance.

Anyone can put any school in England and Wales on their CAF, but they won't necessarily get a place. You need to check the admissions rules, in particular the catchment areas, for those schools. You'll find them on the schools' websites.

Thanks WP.
I am trying to find out if anyone in the past have been successful in securing a place in Herts schools on the basis of exams - academic/music.

Have you had a look at those schools' catchment areas for those criteria?

I got the information from Parmiters.
They take 5% of kids from outside the catchment area ie. 4 seats in total - One for music and three Academic.

when then I am sure someone has in the past! The question is - do you want to use up one of the slots on your CAF form in trying to obtain the one musical place or one of the 3 academic places?

Bagesh it gets very tempting to look at every option for miles around but ultimately your child is going to go to one school and really it is better if that school is reasonably near where you live as travelling can be dire day in day out for 7 years in grot weather.

St. Clement Danes in Chorleywood does not have any distance criteria on the 10% specialist academic places (usually around 21 places). You would need to sit the SW consortium test (Maths and Verbal Reasoning).

On the Herts county website they have the outturn report and this details how many children from out of county each school admitted.
