Which comes first - the e-mail or the eadmissions info?

Post by 2Girlsmum »

From trawling forums today it appears that some people received their e-mail first. Can anyone tell me, or do have to sit with 2 web-pages open and check them both until after 5pm??!!

email definitely comes first as per the Herts council website (look for the PDF booklet in the Admissions section)

The email is timed for 18:00 on the 1st Mar.

Hi mw55pcz,

I have read that the website is notoriously fickle, and in past years it has taken hours longer than advertised to log onto the results due to the massive traffic. Someone mentioned an E-mail at 4.15pm last year, and I was hoping that some of those who have experienced the system could share.

I wasn't worried at all after dd's final test, but the nerves are creeping in now

Good Luck everyone for Tomorrow. In Herts last year we got the email at around 6pm but couldn't log on to the system until late that night as it was so busy.

The emails tend to be spread over several hours, so don't panic if you still haven't heard when others have. (Easy for me to say - good luck everyone!)

Thinking of you all on this admissions rollercoaster!!....For some of you the journey will end tomorrow but for some it would have only just begun. If you don't get your first or second choice just remember the magical waiting lists....................
Last year my DD received her 2nd choice 'Rickmansworth' and was just 2 marks short of getting into Parmiters.....By the middle of March she was offered a place at Parmiters....She was 3rd on the waiting list. Each position can have up to 4-5 places in it.
The waiting just kills you.
I truly wish you all the best of luck and try and keep busy tomorrow before the emails are sent out. The hertsdirect website was useless and kept crashing. I would keep a constant eye on your emails!!
xx
Just looked at the email which came last year. It was generated at 1804hrs...Hope that helps.

Please remember to check your spam folders. When I collected my DD from school at 3pm on our "allocation day", everyone else seemed to know their results (via email not the Herts site). I rushed home to find mine languishing in my rarely checked spam folder - all the other emails Herts had sent me had come through fine.

I will be thinking of you all tomorrow - good luck!

Good luck to everyone waiting. I found out last year (in Barnet) via a telephone call to Admissions (as website down) then received an email, and finally the website was accessible by around 6pm.

It seems like yesterday I was going through this with my DD - it was the most stressful time, but being on the waiting list paid off so please don't be too disheartened if tomorrow does not bring the desired result. And there are people on this forum who can advise you what to do next.

I can't believe I'll be doing this all again this time next year for my DS. Dreading it already!

Hello also to Ally, Tense and Stardreamer - hope you and your DC's are happy and well. :D
