Langley Grammar School - age consideration

Post by Queen »

I have read on the forums that some schools don't take age into consideration. Can anyone tell me if Langley Grammar School does - I can't find evidence anywhere one way or another and Langley haven't written to me. My DC scored 111 and is 11 months younger than many of her classmates and I want to know if I can use this in my appeal.

The 111 achieved is already age standardised from the raw scores. The standardisation measures your child against the cohort in that month versus how the cohort did in relation to the rest of the cohort that took the exam. (Really difficult to explain/understand). you can read up on it on this thread

That said,...... if you believe your child shows a greater immaturity as their peers then you could mention this within your appeal.
