Hello, does anyone have any insights as to how far down the academic continued interest lists Watford Girls & Rickmansworth typically go?

From the stats sticky, Rickmansworth have gone down to scores 5 to 10 points lower than the original cutoff in recent years, while Watford Girls don't go down as much.

How do you know your dd is 7 points away - have they released the cut off points

Yes, I requested a pupil audit report, which they left at the reception for me yesterday afternoon.

My neighbours DD got a place in year 9 after doing 2 years at her second choice so there is hope! I hope your DD gets in as mines is behind her !

Does anyone have any past experience of getting into WGSG through the CI list? (Without waiting 2 years for a place hopefully!!). Appreciate the score hasn't gone down by much in previous years but just wondered how this has translated into actual places. We are 9th on academic list and 11th on distance. Just wondered if we have a hope.

Sorry, I don't really have any knowldge other than the information on this site. Something that may give you cause for encouragement; last year a friend's DD got straight in but 2 other girls in her class both got in via CI - although I'm not sure whether this was on academic or location (they are in Oxhey).

My DD started Queens' in Sept 10 and she has thrived at the school both academically and in sports. Queens was our 2nd choice (SCD 1st) and she received one of the sports specialist places but would also have qualified academically (scored 227). The school has been excellent in all aspects and is a very supportive environment. As the school has the largest number of academic specialist places (about 90) the lowest score cutoff is going to be slightly lower and should not be misinterpreted as reflecting a lower achieving/ability school. Queens' was ranked higher than SCD in the Guardian GCSE and A-level rankings last year and was not far behind WGSB.

Do not be apologetic for choosing Queens' for your DC (if that is your decision). Only you know which school will suit your child best.

Queens' evolved from Bushey Grammar. It is Bushey Academy that was once Bushey Hall.
