A Plan?

Post by r22beta »

Hello,
Please forgive me here, as I feel slightly isolated with regard to the 11+ needs of my young son. As I don't know anyone personally who has gone through this. As you may have seen from my earlier posts, I have about seven and a half months before my son has to sit the 11+. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to make some sort of study plan to encompass all of his study needs?

Many thanks
Dave

Which area are you in? Different regions have different elements to their exams, ao this could effect your plan of action.

Hi,
Thanks for all the replies. We live near Basildon Essex. My Son would like to go to Westcliffe High School, or any other grammar school within about half an hours travelling time. Have seen references to, is it King James in Chelmsford?

King Edward VI School (KEGS). This is what is called a superselective grammar. It has no catchment and takes pupils in the top 5% of the ability range. Westcliff takes children in the top 25%. You would be out of catchment for Westcliff, which will mean that you need a higher mark for entrance, usually early 60% rather than early 50%. KEGS needs mid 70%.
