Ebac - does Latin count?

Post by drummer »

Does anyone know if Latin counts towards the 'Ebac' standard or does it have to be a modern language?

apologies, just found the answer I think on the DoE website which states "The subjects they identify are those included in the English Baccalaureate – mathematics, English, physics, biology, chemistry, geography, history and languages (classical and modern)."

Yes, counts within MFL! I missed it first time round. Still waiting to find out if they are going to add RE to the humanities section though.

agreed RE really should be there - good essay writing and analysis of information, particularly the philosophy and ethics
