A question about school ranks on app form.
Do the schools know what position they have been ranked on, on the HCC application form? The admissons team at WGBS told me today that everyone who has accepted their offer has put the school down as their first choice, so not to expect much movement? Is this true?

No. The schools don't know. Only the LEA knows.

Re: A question about school ranks on app form.
I am sad to hear that a school like WGBS is giving parents incorrect information. The London parents would have had six choices and WGBS will have no idea what place their school was on. It is this misinformation that makes parents think they have to put the local comp down first just in case they miss the selective and so by doing that they lose their selective allocation if they did get offered a place. Sometimes it is the parents who are supposed the smartest who do this. V odd. DG
