Plantation shutters

Post by scarlett »

Dh wants to rip down all our curtains and put up plantation shutters instead. We live in an old cottage so I'm not sure if they will look right. Has anyone got plantation shutters or know anyone who does ? What do they look like once up ? I need a good basis for my argument against ! :)

often seen them in France - then they suit that style of house! supose it depends on the style of house you have ....varies so much around the country. Maybe worth trying one window first to see what it looks like ???

Thanks for replying Herman ! :) I mean the shutters you have inside the house instead of curtains incase it has come across that I meant the great big ones you have outside !

If they are the slatted type I am thinking about they are horrendous to keep clean - think of all that extra dusting which curtains magically seem to absorb.
Other aspect to consider is whether shutters and curtains will have different heat management properties in your home.
Good luck in formulating your case!
