Hi,

There are no grammar schools in Churchdown, but there are two comprehensives: Churchdown and Chosen Hill.

Assuming you are looking for Grammar schools within easy (ish) reach of Churchdown, then for girls the options are the High School for Girls and Ribston Hall, both in Gloucester. Co-ed is Pates in Cheltenham.

Stroud High School is a little further away but has good standards. It's a girls school, but shares some buildings with the boys grammar next door, as well having a shared mixed sixth form, and some mixed extra-curricular activities. By which I mean senior orchestra, the barn dance band and the like (though that does mean that both those have to play at both Stroud High & Marlings concerts).

It's almost the best of both worlds - single sex teaching and classes, but without boys never being seen or spoken to.

I would strongly recommend having a look at all the grammars in the county appropriate to your childs gender. It's not just about results at A level, but also about enjoying the education, and you may find that one would suit your child better than all the others; you know your child best!
