Advice on cleaning carpet

Post by MOOSHOO15 »

A month ago, I bought two lovely new bedroom carpets. Last night my (not very popular!!) DD2 dropped a bright red lipstick on one of the carpets and proceeded to tread it all over the place. I now have several large red stains to remove - any tips grateful on how best to achieve this.

Calim on your household insurance - it's the easiest way!

But to answer your original question, try good old soap and water (lipsticks are oil based) and elbow grease, but I doubt if you'll ever truly be rid of all the marks, hence the above comment.

My neighbour spilt a cafetiere full of strong coffee on her sitting room carpet, used a specialist carpet cleaning person who couldn't get rid of stain. Claimed on insurance so got new carpet and also used old one (which wasn't all that old) in 2 bedrooms and a bed hid the stain!! Win Win so have a go, that's why you pay the premium!
