Type K mistake?

Post by Marylou »

7 [33] 4, 6 [27] 3

6 [?] 6

If the two outside numbers added together and multiplied by 3 make the middle number, then shouldn't the answer be 36? The answer given is 42.

(from Tutors paper 10, Q.44)

Shurely shome mishstake? :)

My set says

7 [33] 4, 6 [27] 3

8 [?] 6

Sometime ago this question was identified as an error as in the answer 42 was not present on the answer sheet.

Thanks, Patricia. Just double-checked and the first number is definitely a 6. :? It looks as though the answer sheet was corrected but another error has crept in on the question sheet.

Mine is old copy which I keep for reference.

Is yours a new set?

If so I will inform the programmer.

I have a downloaded copy of this paper from Sep 2009. The question paper is the same as Patricia's (8 [?] 6) and the answer option 42 is on the answer sheet. Perhaps your download is older, Marylou?
