Are u sure u have 28 in the middle, it seems it is 24.
(8[28]6)

If 24 then it makes sense, you multiply 8 and 6, then half it.

9 and 6 makes 54, half it and it becomes 27, same for 7 and 6 which makes 42, half it and it also becomes 21.
