2nd one: Plausible working would be 1 less than the average of the 2 numbers

2nd one. Add the 2 numbers together, take away 2 and halve it.
(9[11]15) (12[14]18)
(6[?]12)
9+15=24-2=22/2=11
12+18=30-2=28/2+14
6+12=18-2=16/2=8
Hope this helps.

Snow is rain forming crystals when cold, steam is water forming vapour when hot.
Please return my books promptly/rapidly. I was delayed/detained coming through the airport.

Is this multiple choice? It could be more than one answer for the second question.
Hi belinda..i thought it still works...average is 9 and 1 less than the average is 8...

usually the solution should be straightforward and hence i wanted to play around the average :)

1st one: 2 + 10 = 12 + (2 * 10 (second number)) =32
5 + 6 = 11 + (2 * 6 (second number) = 23

4 + 12 =16 + (2*12) = 40

2nd one:

9 + 15 = 24 - (2nd number 15 - 2) = 11
12+18 = 30 - (18-2) = 14

6 + 12 = 18 - (12-2) = 8
