Hi coolmum2011

Unless anything has changed since April this year, then no, there is no age standardisation in Essex and the system does not seem to have changed in the last few years.

The CSSE are generally very helpful, you could ring them and ask.

There is no age standardisation in Essex. Interestingly, lots of DD's friends are summer born, whereas most of DS' friends seem to be born before March. Boys vs girls perhaps.

My son is autumn born and my daughter summer born and their friends all seem to have birthdays around the same times, perhaps this makes moved's comment statistically significant ?

thanks for the replies everyone

tutors would have a better idea too if they see any signs of age standardisation ..... any tutors on the forum would like to comment on this ??
just to confirm does ''summer born'' mean kids who have b'days from june to august 31st ?? and autumn born from sept - dec ??

I was a tutor. There is no age standardisation. I have spoken to CSSE. The scores are easily verifiable. Essex stopped age standardisation years ago.

Essex and standardisation 2012 - age weighting

Post by zanymum »

I have asked CSSE to provide 11+ data regarding results by age/sex. I would like to see how the numbers stack up for myself. I will share any response from CSSE with the Forum.
