Next Thursday is A level results day, Thursday after is GCSE results day

My mate, his son got his gcse results yesterday, he lives in dubai

Ha, so maybe you can go to Dubai and log on to get your results early?

I don't think it works like that, you see he sat his exams out there and is a local student. They get their results earlier than local uk students

These would be iGCSEs and probably not the same exams pupils here sat. Far fewer papers to mark too.

My daughter gets her GCSE results on Thursday 25th August. The school is open that day for the girls to go along and staff will be available to speak with as well.

Yes Moonlight et al - GCSEs are released to pupils on 25th - all schools open to enable pupils to register for Sixth Form or discuss 'options'.

Schools receive the results electronically slightly earlier so they can anticipate who has not met entrance requirements.

Edexcel issues 'credit card' type codes to enable access online for pupils but that only gives the Edexcel results - so my DC did know one result before arriving at school.

In my day we got the results on postcards the next day

We turned up at school, in uniform, to collect results, this is only going back to mid eighties
