Ashmole school - rumours about going selective

I've heard rumours about Ashmole School becoming selective for around 2-3 years now. We are finally thinking of moving into the catchment area (not cheap) as a back up option for our youngest, but hoping this rumours do not become true after we move there.

Has anyone else heard these / have further information on the likelihood?

Ive heard those rumours but also that the governors would never allow it.
They have some music places currently.
If you do move there make sure you move near enough! ( and have southgate school as an option as well)
