Hi hasmum
Answer is worked out as
1 x 1 x 1 = 1
2 x 2 x 2 = 8
3 x 3 x 3 = 27
4 x 4 x 4 = 64
so
5 x 5 x 5 = 125
Answer is worked out as
1 x 1 x 1 = 1
2 x 2 x 2 = 8
3 x 3 x 3 = 27
4 x 4 x 4 = 64
so
5 x 5 x 5 = 125
Re: Stuck on this question
Its well worth getting your child to recognise these numbers as well as square numbers.

Hi Patricia,
Thankyou ever so much, I showed my husband this am and he worked it out, before I saw your post, do questions like this actually come up, and also will the children have advanced level codes for the bucks exams. the number q was new to me and my ds.
The difficulty level worries me as at present my ds is getting 75+ out of 80 for ie Walsh, Bright sparks both started in last few weeks. my sons tuition centre gave him Premium series, which I believe are also 21 types seem to be challenging he got 74, 75 77, and 70 for one.
Will the above come up in the bucks exams. ie advanced codes and squaring numbers like the above question.
thanks

I don't know specifically about your area but in most areas it is worth learning to recognise certain series as they can come up in questions:
eg squares... 1 4 9 16 25 36 49 64 81 100 ...
cubes 1 8 27 64...
primes.. 1 2 3 5 7 11 13 17 19 23..
doubling 1 2 4 8 16 32 64 ...

do questions like this actually come up,
Yes
Yes, each section of types will always have a few harder questions towards the end of each section.and also will the children have advanced level codes for the bucks exams.
Good Scores! The difficulty level worries me as at present my ds is getting 75+ out of 80 for ie Walsh, Bright sparks both started in last few weeks.
Premium are not totally 21 type friendly, not recommended.my sons tuition centre gave him Premium series, which I believe are also 21 types seem to be challenging he got 74, 75 77, and 70 for one.
Your son sounds as though he is doing very well with the above scores. Dont start to panic on his behalf.
