Age related marking

Post by bean »

Hi all,

I am new to this site and it looks as though it will be a great help. My daughter will be taking the 11+ this autumn for one of the grammar schools in Wirral. Her birthday is in September and I am unsure how the LEA go about taking marks away from the older children or adding marks for the younger ones. Can anyone tell me how this process works please? She is currently achieveing 85%+ on papers which would be enough if she wasn't a September birthday. She is at level 5c in science/english and maths, but I know this counts for nothing on the day! Any advice would be most welcome. Thanks

Thank you for the reply. Exactly what I needed but not what I wanted to hear sadly! My daughter looks like she will need one heck of a mark to get a place
