Essex Maths and Robson

Post by TGIN »

I wonder of anyone can help please. I am considering the Peter Robson books 1-5 and I am hoping that if anyone has used them, they can point out exactly which pages/sections in each of the volumes we can leave out as they are irrelevant for the Essex paper? This would be hugely helpful as there is a lot to cover in the 5 volumes! I have read on the forum that its all of the first two volumes, half of the third and bits of the fourth and fifth that are relevant. I know there is a topic list on this site for maths but would be keen if someone could point out specific chapters/pages that can be excluded for Essex. Feel free to pm me if preferred. Thanks

Are you talking about Essex or Redbridge? If Essex, you would probably be better off in that forum and I will move the thread.

I haven't used books 1 - 5 but I found the Maths dictionary invaluable.
Would definetely recommend it.

Hi,
Totally agree about the Math Dictionary. I believe all the books and sections are important . My dd has covered all. However its quite heavy and time consuming so I suggest you make sure she knows atleast 5 questions from each section on each page . If the child masters them they know it if not go over teaching and try some more questions on those pages.
I peronally find Maths watch a great back up for teaching and explaining all areas in maths!
What age is your child or school year more to the point?
