It's great that you have started this thread. There is SO much focus on schools if you are successful in the 11+, but the majority do not pass the exam and it's hard to know where to turn for the correct school for your child.
I do not have any children transferring this year, but I do have one in a Bexley grammar and one in a non-selective. Both I believe are at the right schools.
Which schools were you thinking of?

Re: what schools are the non selective children choosing
We looked at some of the non-selectives last year and had we not passed we would have been very happy with Beaverwood, although I would normally prefer a mixed school though. Some of the academies such as Falconwood sound good on paper but we are sadly not in the catchment for those so we did not look at them.
Re: what schools are the non selective children choosing
Hi We have been fortunate that our son was deemed selective, however we had previously viewed all the state schools. Hurstmere was excellent as you said, Very impressed with Haberdashers in Crayford (I went to the Hatcham one and it was a class A1 education). We know parents of children at Cleave Park who are happy there. So if we were now choosing we would have HABs top, Hurstmere (nothing ventured nothing gained), Cleave and finally St Columbus (poor reputation but my son loved it !!).
However everyone is very individual.
Good luck and hope you get your Nmber 1 choice.

Henry 24,
Have you considred the Leigh or Wilmington Academy?
DS' good friends attend both and are extremely happy and doing very well.

We are on the borders of Bexley, Greenwich and Bromley,
I think our choices in order would have been:
Coopers
Crown Woods (Very impressed with it)
Hurstmere
Harris Academy Falconwood
We didn't get to see Clevepark and we didn't think Kemnal was the right school for Ds.

Our choices would have been:
1. St Cath's
2. Haberdashers
3. Trinity
4. Leigh.
I really liked all of them.
