Susan Daughtrey Bright Sparks Practice Test paper 1 Typo

Post by Tinkers »

SO this can help any one else using this set I found a typo on q19 (rather DD did and started complaining when doing the paper!)
c=60 rather than 6, otherwise theres no correct answer.

I tried the web address in the pack
http://www.susandaughtreyeducation.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to ask/inform of this but it doesn't work. Has anyone else come across this error before? Can I contact someone else to let them know?

I hate to break it to you, but the question is correct:

A = 0
B = 3
C = 6
D = 20
E = 40

E x B / D - C = ?

40 x 3 = 120
120 / 20 = 6
6 - 6 = 0

The answer is A.

Orson - I think that's a bit over the top.

BIDMAS is not an easy concept and we all make mistakes when we are rushing - this forum is no place for unkind comments :shock:

In my defence, I'm in pain with a bad back and haven't been sleeping well. (and it's ten years since I taught, losing my touch, my mental maths WAS very good).

A most unnecessary comment, Orson.

11+ practice has a way of making you glaze over at times. Even experienced tutors have moments when they just go completely blank on a particular question.

My sons have reported back on many occasions when exceptionally good teachers have had the same thing happen to them. It is the teacher's equivalent to a TV commentator's "Coleman Balls" moment.

Please accept my apologies, one and all. :oops: Comment most unnecessary but only meant in jest.

Dear Tinkers,

The fact you admitted your crime means you are a fantastic teacher and have nothing to hide! I am quite proud to say I got stuck on a question my daughter tackled in half a second! She just counted the corners without looking for a trick question :shock:
