Double the second bit of information:
2 pears and 8 oranges costs £2.06
Look at the difference between the two bits of information:
So 5 oranges must cost £1
Therefore 1 orange costs 20p
so 4 oranges cost 80p and thus 1 pear must be 23p - answer is D.
