Which martial art for 11 year old girl?
My daughter who will go to secondary school in Sept expressed an interest in martial arts. She'll have the choice of karate, judo or kickboxing. She is tall, and slim. Any input gratefully received.

If tall and slim go for Karate. In judo you have a disadvantage if you are tall sometimes because your centre of gravity is high up making you easier to overbalance. In Karate she would have and advantage in reach and kicks. Initially this would seem to be the same for kickboxing, but there is generally more chance of brain injury in kickboxing so I would avoid that.
My DD in year six is a black belt in Tae kwon do, which is very elegant to watch and dance-like to learn. Karate has a similar feel and generally a good one for girls. Very sharp and forceful too of course.

How about Wing Chun?
Legend has it that it was designed by a woman.
But whether Wing Chun devised it or not, the moves or frames taught do complement women especially in self defence... you know, 1-1 against a man.

Judo means 'The Gentle Way' and is good for self-defence.
