Solihull School exam
Hi we have applied to Solihull and confirmation came today in the form of two past papers (English and Maths), but no information about how the test day is run.
Do you know what the exam day is like for the children?
Thanks

I think the attached letter should state if vr or NVR is also rested. I would be surprised if NVR is tested at that school. It's a fairly easy test to pass.
(Just my own personal opinion, but I felt it was a local comp but with fees.)

Re: Solihull School exam
Solihull is not a full day, and, to be totally fair, will be 'easier' than any other exams your ds has taken.
There's general Maths, English comprehension, and a piece of writing.
There's a short snack break too. Unless it has changed in the past few years...

Re: Solihull School exam
As a new member, I am rather angry with 'poiuyt' as i keep seeing very negative comments about Solihull school. It is not just a 'comp with fees' and 'everyone who applies gets in' as my DD wasn't successful yet passed for Camp Hill. My DS is at Solihull and I think this is such a stressful time for people that rather rude comments are not helpful.

Hello Bobby and welcome.
I would love to know about your experiences and observations on Solihull School.

Hello Bobby, welcome to the forum
I understand the point you are making about negative comments - especially as I have recently had bad news from Solihull, but I don't think the comments were meant with any malice, they were offered as encouragement before results came out. If you read enough of poiuyt's posts you come to realise that some comments can be blunt but are never hurtful. We are a friendly bunch in the Brum section - honestly
Poppit, can I take from your silence that DS had good news today?

Hey Bobby, I suggest you think before you write.
Give you another free tip, check out the context of the message before you have a rant. There are a lot more contentious comments made on various topics and adults tend to discuss them without getting too sensitive.
Have a great evening.

Thank you Umsusu, and, sorry to hear your news.
Re: Solihull School exam
Umsusu - can you read minds? It is kind of you to ask, yes we have had the good fortune to be offered a place. I am thankful to have it - but we will make up our minds about whether to accept it or not once we know the results of all the exams.UmSusu wrote:
