11+ Bucks Appeal Score 120

Post by Ramana »

Dear Sally-Anne, Etienne
My DD got 120 in Bucks 11+ Test, we have now appealed for this.
We have asked school to fill the head teacher form, but school didn’t complete the form properly. They didn’t tick options and Class teacher filled the few sections and she gave SAT score 4a and 4b. They didn’t write any comments in any sections.. We are not sure whether to include this report.
My DD only missed by 1 mark but school is not help us...
Please help us on this..
Thank you

Hi Ramana, and welcome!

What was her other score, and in which order were they?
we have now appealed for this.
By this, do you mean that you have sent off the appeal form? If you have sent it off without the Head's summary sheet (or without ticking the box to say that you are not including it) your form will not be processed until you have done one or the other.

Is this a Bucks school, or a school in another area?

What do you mean by ticking "options"? Do you mean the recommendation? Are the SATs scores her current levels or predicted levels at the end of Year 6?
They didn’t write any comments in any sections.
If they have made no comments, the form is virtually worthless. Can you speak to the Head again, or is s/he anti-selection?

If you have good school reports, strong evidence from her school books, or mock SATs that show her working at level 5, these are all possible alternative evidence on a score of 120.

First test was 120 and second test 115.

there was an option to select - Not to include the head's summary
Is this a Bucks school, or a school in another area?
Not, school in Harrow

Recommendation section wasn't filled/ticked.

we can but we are not she will try any good comments.

We are gethering alternative evidence and waiting for QE and Langley Test result , hoping to include them as evidences

Ramana, I have sorted out your quotes for you! Not sure how you got in such a pickle, but not to worry.
First test was 120 and second test 115.
The panel will be looking at both scores to try and judge which is most representative of her ability. You need to be prepared for questions about the 115, not just the 120.
there was an option to select - Not to include the head's summary
To clarify, have you ticked that box?
Not, school in Harrow

Recommendation section wasn't filled/ticked.

we can but we are not she will try any good comments.
Sounds as though the Head is anti-selection. As the class teacher seems more willing to help (albeit she may not understand the system) it might be better for you to talk to her about what evidence you might put forward. And you need to check those SATs levels. Without a Head's summary sheet, and if the predicted end of Year 6 SATs really are Level 4s, the panel is likely to take the view that the score of 115 is probably more representative of her ability.

If she achieves significantly better scores in those tests, they might be helpful, but you still have to make a case as to why she under-performed in the Bucks test and prove her ability.
