First Round Offers for Slough Consortium

Post by HarryM »

Just received Langley results today and DD got 121. I'm really pleased she past but still a bit nervous as this may not be quite enough this year to secure a place at Langley.
Does anyone know historically what first round offers were made by the Slough Consortium Grammars over the last few years. I think i read somewhere that for instance Langley offered first round at 118 for a couple of years back, but remember Head saying that last year, ie 2011, was offered at 120.
Does this have anything to do with Herscell changing to a certain number of places being made at distance catchment and therefore a larger number of students competing for a fewer number of Rank positions?
Although past history does not dictate future offers, what is the first round offer score for candidates putting a particular Grammar first likely to be?

Congratulations to your DD,

The stats on first round offers can be found here...

I have updated the first post with all data that has been given to me on the forum.

I would be grateful for any stats on this year when the offers come out.

Got the good news. Very happy with the result and proud of my dc. Is 141 the highest possible score or 140?

We have received marks today and sadly My son got 115 only. We have got Langley, slough and Hershel all in our form.
Not sure that with this score can we get into any three of above ? please advice.

Congratulations to all your dc's they have all done well.

Please see my post above for the link on the first offers and other stats we have compiled.

Jignesh - What were your preferences....Langley is allocated on highest score. Both Slough & Herschel allocate a proportion on highest score and allocate the rest on pass mark (111) and distance. It has been harder to suggest a final offer cut off for Herschel & Slough because of this.
