For us it's a long shot - anyone know the numbers applying for the 11+ this year?

Good luck mango, I have in my notes that 45 will be invited for interview but don't know how many sitting the exam, or how many places. There are two sittings for the exams which makes me think many boys to fit in...

I think they said they were expecting about 300ish on the open day, similar to previous year. However, I wouldn't be surprised if it were more.

DS has the morning slot and then we're taking him out for a meal. What slot does your DS have?

Btw I did phone them asking for no of applicants but they said they don't disclose this kind of information.

Think both are am slots - either starting 9am or 10am

It was the first time I'd been inside the under school so interesting for that reason.

It was as expected - very hard. In fact he didn't manage to finish the Maths paper so not expecting an invitation to an interview. How did your DS find the papers?

My son found the maths paper very challenging too.He did not get the chance to finish the last question worth 4 marks.Did your son find any other questions hard?

To be honest I didn't ask for more details. This whole journey really has been hard and now that it's finally come to an end I didnt ask him for more info as i think it would have been torture (for both of us!!).
It's done with now, we could have prepared better, but we've learnt a great deal. Hopefully I have learnt for the future when I go through this again in a few years.
Letters for interviews will go out before end of the week so lots of luck to you and you son.
