Newport Girls High School

Is anyone out there on the count down to find out about Newport Girls? My dd is going to be really disappointed if she doesn't get a place. We have played the whole thing down but I know it will be a blow. Does anyone know the percentage of outer girls who go to the school? We are 4 miles away from Newport but the wrong side of the catchment area.

Places offered for Sept 2011: 21 in area, 35 out of area (Telford admissions book).

Edit to add: Sept 2010: 42 in area, 14 outside.

So it's quite variable.

We are waiting too but Newport is DD's second choice, she loved the school and DS is at Adams' so would be handy but, after much deliberation, we put Wolverhampton Girls first! Not too long to wait now!

Hi, we did the reverse - NGH 1st and WGH second. My son is at AGS too. We liked both schools but it was down to locality.

Same with us, we live in Wolverhampton and quite a few of DD's friends have sat for WGHS. Honestly would be thrilled with either school, one month and counting!
