Travel options from Great Dunmow to Colchester girls School

Post by buttons »

Hi

We are considering moving to Great Dunmow area if my DD gets offer for Colchester girls school. Bus journey in service 508 is going to be tedious because of the time involved. I would like to know if there is any other arrangement like mini bus option. Thanks

I took a look at the travelinessoutheast site for you & the public transport options look very longwinded. Hopefully, someone else will come on with other ideas.

Hi Buttons,

A friend of my daughter's travels on the 508 every day from the Dunmow area to Colchester so I'm not sure if there would be an alternative at the moment. It may be worth ringing the CSSE office to enquire about possible bus companies or, alternatively, have a word with the school direct. The other possibility may be to get a bus from Braintree. There might be more flexibility with travelling times but does mean a drive (probably for you!) into town every day which is not ideal.

Thanks Clarabelle and Moonlight for your input. I'll ring CSSE and the school to get more information. 3 hours of bus journey every day would be very tedious for DD.
