What makes a Successful Appeal?
Hi all.
Has anyone appealed for selective/grammar school place in the past & it was upheld? If so was the appeal because of over subscription, catchment or anything else?
From your experiences does it matter where DC is ranked on waiting list or does it depend on the evidence of high academic ability which swings the ball to your side of the court?
What do you believe was The Key Factor/s that won or if you weren't fortunate, lost your appeal?
All stories welcome, long or short!

Thank you Hermanmunster will have a read with a cup of tea when kids are asleep.
Re: What makes a Successful Appeal?
Absolutely not - admissions (which includes waiting lists) and appeals are two different processes. The Appeals Code states:does it matter where DC is ranked on waiting list
Appeal panels must not take account of where the admission authority has placed a child on the waiting list.
There are lots of do's and don't's in the Q&As. For example:What makes a Successful Appeal?

Herman has already mentioned the Q&As in your other thread - it would be worth reading them. (They also answer your question about waiting lists.)
