11+ retest as evidence of academic ability

We are appealing for our DS fro grammar school and have been advised to gain as much evidence of academic ability as possible. Our sons results were only a few marks short of the requirement and were not as good as expected. It has been suggested that we have him retake the 11+ paper with an independant professional and get the results standardised to provide to the appeals panel. However he is now 11 and 4 months so I'm not sure how to go about it, who to ask or if it is even possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure if that sort of evidence would be of a great help in an appeal otherwise people would keep taking it until they got the result they wanted. However, if you haven't got other evidence eg CATS / reports etc you may want to consider and Ed Psych report which would be standardised to age and give far more info

No, you can't 'retake the 11+ paper'.

You need alternative academic evidence of high ability.
