Current Year 7 Grades
Hi, Just wondered if any parents would be willing to share their childs 'End of Term' test grades? I am finding it difficult to know whether my son is on target and in general what is an acceptable level at this point of Year 7.
Thanks
Susie
Thanks
Susie
Hi Guest55,
My son went in with 3 Level 5's - his weakest being English. He has just achieved a 6C in Maths with a target of 7+ for KS3 - could you explain that to me as i have a son who is so laid back he doesnt worry what targets are 'as long as im doing my best mum' is what im told!!. And a 6A for Science. Still awaiting English.. Is this acceptable?
Thank you so much
Susie

surely this should apply to all schools not just grammars! My comp child went from 4,5,5 in English maths science to 6c, 6b, 6c in end of year 7 optional sats/school papers and I wouldn't have expected anything less whether he had been at grammar or at a comp.if in a Grammar I would expect a level 5 child to be at level 6 in Maths by now.
I must say Susie it sounds to me like your son is on track
Guest,
You are not in a Bucks school I think - no school I know of takes the NC tests early. If one does I'd like to know!!
Some do start GCSEs in Y9 but that is different.
I mentioned Grammars because this is the Bucks section!! Of course level 5 children in ALL schools are capable of reaching level 6 in Y7 on Maths.
Susie - it depends how 'good' the level 5 was! I would expect most level 5s to get level 8 in Maths by the end of Y9 - level 7 would be the value-added target but I would challenge my pupils to aim higher than that!!
