Waiting list for Newstead Wood

Hi all
Does anyone know how far down the waiting list it's gone in previous years for NW? I just want to get a feel for whether my daughter should be holding out any hope or encouraged to move on..... we think she's about 11th in the list. (2 marks off the cut-off point...)

Sorry, how did you find out that your daughter is on a waiting list? Was it in the letter from the admission or you called the school? thank you

It's in a letter we got this morning in the post from the school, which has all the details. The school does not encourage calls.

What was the cut off this year? As far as I know more weight is given to the NVR. The waiting list is kept open till the girls start in 2012 I think, in case any one drops out.

My friend's DD got 223. She spoke to NW and was told her chances are slim as there are about a hundred girls with 223. I imagine the ranking must be by highest NVR score and perhaps distance to school.

Just to let you know that our DD who was sixth on the waiting list has just been offered a place. Offers need to be accepted by April 24th (which I have done for DD) so presumably there will be a further sort and reallocation of any remaining places in early May.

Is the NW test standardised as in Kent and Bexley, i.e. out of 140 per topic and allowances made for age?
