Level 6 SATs - Help Please

Post by jabba7 »

Hi

My DS is sitting level 6 SATs at school. He did a practice paper and I am very confused by what he is telling me re his mark.

Does anyone know how these work?

Many thanks

Yes - you need to get a level 5 on the level 3 to 5 paper then enough marks on the additional paper.

I presume his teacher assessment is level 6?

Thanks. Do you know how the marking works for level 6?

He is 5 on the level 3 to 5 paper.

Sorry to sound so stupid but I can't find anything to explain how level 6 for year 6 actually works. Any help will be really appreciated

Hi,
According to my son who is doing the level 6 SATs:

The level 6 maths paper has 2 papers - one with a calculator one without each has 25 questions. To score Level 6 you must get at least 25/50

The Level 6 reading has a variety of genres with comprehension to get level 6 you must score 18, I think it is out of 32. Free papers are available from this site

No-one knows what this year's score to get the level 6 will be. Please don't worry - not quite sure why the school is entering level 5 pupils for it!

This years sats are not until next week, so we won;t know the levels yet. They are not by any means cut and dried!
