Reigate to Sutton Grammar

My son will be going to sutton boys grammar school travelling from the reigate area in September. I wondered if anyone else will be doing this? Has done this? Any tips or advice would be greatly received.

If trains are convenient from your area, then
Reigate to East Croydon, Tram to West Croydon, Train to Sutton.
Reigate to Redhill, Redhill to Clapham Junction, Clapham Junction to Sutton.

Reigate to East Croydon. Tram to West Croydon, then Bus (X26) to Sutton.
Bus 420 from Reigate to Sutton - but the service is not frequent.

or Mum/Dad taxi: about 30 minutes on A217/B2230
