Can you recommend any good educational DVDs or programmes.
Do you know any good educational fun DVDs or programmes for 5-11 years old?
My boys love watching Horrible History- Bbc on DVD and they have learnt about great humour and history at the same time. We also watch David Attenborough as a family. Do you know of any good DVDs or tv programmes that make learning really fun?
All suggestions are very much welcome and if you can say which channel the programme is on so I can find it.
Thanks

Deadly 60 - educational for children and a fit (in every sense of the word) presenter!
Bang Go's the Theory - pseudo-scientific family - BBC - not on at present
Food Factory - my 10 and 12 year old likes these programmes about food - where it comes from and how it is made
I only have freesat so am limited in channels.

My boys watches "Dinosaur" by Disney which is factual but with a great story. After reading factual books on dinosaurs then watching this film, we can really see how detailed the program shows how we believe dinosaurs lived. It brings the facts to life.
Do you know any films or story based program's that are also educational?

Only connect - bbc3 or bbc4 - good word game programme - both my boys like it. I think a new series is about to start. Doesn't fit your original documentary request, but maybe good subtle 11+ preparation!
